About the Course - Power Electronics

Course Summary

Power electronics involves the study of electronic circuits intended to control the flow of electrical energy. This course will give the overview of the field of power electronics on its devices used in, and their applications. We will see the extensive use of power electronics converters in industrial, commercial, residential environments. The rectifiers, and their application is one of the most interesting in the whole field of electrical technology. We will start the analysis with a simple single phase half wave rectifier and see its operation when different types of load are connected to it. Another part of the course will deal with a.c to d.c converters and inverters.
